REPRESENTATIVE HANABUSA'S STATEMENT ON DONALD TRUMP, JR.'S EMAILS AND MEETING WITH KREMLIN-CONNECTED RUSSIAN LAWYER
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa (HI-01) issued the following statement after the New York Times reported that Donald Trump, Jr. agreed to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer to review documents that purportedly “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful” to his father.
Colleen Hanabusa: What is most troubling about these emails is their contradiction of unequivocal denials by the administration. Congress has important work to do on behalf of the people. We need to move beyond the daily distraction of Russian collusion and interference in our U.S. election by allowing a bipartisan independent commission to fully investigate these serious issues while Congress focuses on healthcare, jobs, infrastructure, the military and our national budget.
