HANABUSA CALLS TRUMP'S NEW IMMIGRATION BAN AN ASSAULT ON MUSLIMS AND REFUGEES
Washington, D.C. – On Monday, March 6, 2017, the Trump administration issued its revised immigration ban. On the same date, Congresswoman Hanabusa was participating in a Department of Defense (Navy) Congressional Delegation trip to Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut, Electric Boat in Quonset Point, Rhode Island, and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island, to receive briefing and tours associated with the Navy's submarine program. She issues the following statement upon her review of the Executive Order.
Congresswoman Hanabusa: The Trump administration continues its assault upon immigrants, Muslims and refugees fleeing persecution in foreign countries. This is essentially a repackaged ban with the same dangerous discrimination. It does more to terrorize immigrants than protect Americans from terror.
