DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE ANNOUNCES $17m DELIVERY ORDER FOR SUPPORT OF KC-10 PROGRAM
Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, the Department of Defense announced that Northrop Grumman Technical Services has been awarded a $17,755,034 delivery order (P00002) to previously awarded contract FA8105-17-F-0002 for contractor logistic support for support of the KC-10 program. Honolulu’s Hickam Air Force Base was named as one of five work sites around the nation, with work expected to be complete by the end of 2018.
Congresswoman Hanabusa: I am very pleased by today’s announcement that Hickam Air Force Base will serve as a work site for the KC-10 program. The KC-10 Extender is a remarkable aircraft that can perform two vital tasks: mid-air refueling and cargo transport. The enormous geographic breadth of the Asia-Pacific region – including millions of square miles of open ocean -- means that the ability to refuel without landing is an absolute necessity for our airmen. Hawaii will continue to play a critical role in ensuring that our military has the ability to respond to threats and defend our national interests anywhere around the globe.
