CONGRESSWOMAN COLLEEN HANABUSA FAULTS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FOR PULLING ACA MARKETPLACE ADS AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES IN THE LAST DAYS OF ENROLLMENT
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa faulted the Trump Administration today for immediately halting all advertising and other outreach activities for the ACA Marketplaces by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the critical last few days of Open Enrollment.
Congresswoman Hanabusa: “Undermining the existing insurance marketplace by ordering HHS to halt their already planned and purchased ACA advertising campaign aimed at younger adults is outrageous. Not only does it frustrate the most important sign-up period, it destabilizes the risk pool by discouraging young healthy adults from signing up.”
Before this action by the Trump Administration, enrollment in the 2017 Marketplaces had been going well, with more than 11.5 million people nationwide signed up as of December 24th, higher than the same time last year...
